Lil B turned Nine... …

This is one of the catching up posts that I had wanted to include to remember our life in NZ  July 18th 2013
Eversince we came to NZ, Lil B has improved a lot health wise. This has meant that he has taken a new look at life. His zest for life is evident in the way he participates in various outdoor activities. He had Swimming lessons in school and has learnt swimming. And boy does he love to swim !lThe moment he sees a pool, he'd be begging us to let him go swim, even if the temperature was freezing!
He loves cycling, Skating ,gardening . His love for drawing has not diminished!.When left with nothing to do, one can always find him doodling. Fairies have given way to monsters now! He still loves sparkly things and colour . His fascination for cars has grown. He has learnt to play on the monkey bars and on the trampoline. He had been begging for a Club Penguin membership and he got that for his birthday. He was so excited but so typically started worrying about what he would do after his membership expired the next month  and what he could do to renew it the following months too ! :)
He often makes up little songs and stories and entertains me. Can beat his Big B n a game on PSP and is always generous enough to show Big B the new tricks he has learnt.
When it comes to me specially, he is always very sensitive.
Always supportive and  mindful of my feelings. he'd be the only person to sense that I'm feeling lonely and left out in a room full of people and come near me and ask if I'M OK.

As a Birthday treat,we took him to a place called ButterflyCreek.

Its a fun little place that had a little train ride, petting farm, many varieties of butterflies, Big Australian Saltwater crocodiles,, baby crocodiles, an aquarium , a Cafeteria, picnic area and a souvenir shop.
As soon as we went in , we made a beeline to the Cafeteria, Lil B got corn dogs meal, Big B got ice-cream , Dh and I got Coffee,  the food was good had our fill and went to take a ride in the little red train.

It was a short but fun ride.
We then went to the Farm area called the Buttermilk Farm

We could buy food to feed the animals for a small amount(50c).At first the boys were hesitant and a little scared but dh showed them how it was done and then they went through several packs.

Guniea fowls roamed around freely in the playground area that also had picnic tables. Where Lil B had a go at the swing slide monkey bars and trampoline.

We then went and watched the crocs getting fed and heard all about them fierce creatures. The Staff were interactive and very friendly. When we went to see and touch the baby crocs one of the friendly staff saw us admiring baby crocs in a glass box and  showed us a little demo about how quickly they react and catch their prey.Which was just amazing! very educational especially for the boys.

The butterfly house was a delight  with  stunning butterflies flying here and there ,   amid the waterfalls and lush foliage, pond with colourful fish .The butterflies sometimes land on you if you are lucky.we got to see the lifecycle of butterflies in several stages which Lil B loved as he was studying about  it in school.  It was so humid in there we had to take off all the layers we were wearing and the camera lens kept getting blurry because of it.
