How was Christmas at your place?
Ours started with both the boys getting into our room to wish us Merry Christmas.
We usually don't do gifts, except getting new clothes as per tradition. This year I decided to surprise them with gift cards. Like I expected ,they were thrilled! The amount on the card didn't seem to matter one bit as it was quite small.
Then we went to the Christmas Church service . A friend from Church threw a lovely Bbq lunch for few of us without family to go to .
The hot summer sun had the children splashing about in the pool. They had a blast.
The food was delicious and company just wonderful.oh and there were Christmas crackers, our first, with little funny riddles , paper crowns and cute gifts inside. It was a perfect day !
The previous day on Christmas Eve another friend invited a bunch of us to her home .We had a lovely time , singing carols with music in the background by a fire where children roasted marshmallows.
In keeping with our Christmas tradition, we got a couple of new Christmas ornaments from a store called Christmas Hut . I went for this angel ornament , as it also had a mini nativity on it.Then we got a few other handmade ornaments from the Pay it Forward store.Since it was Lil B who put up the tree and decorated it, he chose what he liked.
Apart from the garland on my fireplace we didn't have much of a Christmas decor around the home
I made a couple of our traditional Christmas sweets, one was a success another not. I didn't fret about it though .
I really liked how Christmas this year was getting together with friends , just relaxing and enjoying ourselves.
We also experienced the Boxing Day sales this year. We shopped till we dropped!! Literally! Not because we were buying a lot of things - the boys just had two things each on their list , they had looked up online , worked up the cost /discount etc but when we went to the stores it was so crowded that a good amount of time was spent trying to find those items in store.
I can't believe how fast this year has flown past. In a week's time, we will be in 2016. I'm hoping to slow down paying attention things that really matter and not get caught up in a mad rush. To recognise blessings and to cherish and hold them tight.
A heartfelt thanks to all my readers for your support and encouragement through the past year.Appreciate it very much.
